The Mangle was a competitor robot which was being built for Series 5 of Robot Wars. It is unknown if the construction of the robot was ever completed.
Design[]
Most of The Mangle's design is unknown at this time. What is known is that it was designed with a large pair of horizontal hydraulic crushing jaws.[1] The final construction of The Mangle isn't currently known.
Qualification[]
Three days before the qualifiers, the team pulled out from attending. The robot was 30kg overweight due to the heavy steal frame and weapon. Team captain Simon Hickie soon after switched jobs and no longer had the facilities to finish the build.[2]
