- "It might be a spinner, but there's nothing dizzy about this American robot. You don't want to get bitten by the fast-moving steel teeth...of The Revolutionist!"
- — Jonathan Pearce's in-game commentary
The Revolutionist (Referred to as just Revolutionist in game) was a low cylindrical shaped-robot which acted as a full-body spinner, with a set of teeth around the outside. It was decorated in the stars and stripes of the US flag. It competed in both series of Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors, and was the runner-up of the first series, and reached the heat final of the second series. The Revolutionist was able to move around the arena floor as it spun, it is also able to do this in-game.
Appearance and ArmamentEdit
Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction (PC/Xbox) was the only one of the Robot Wars video games that The Revolutionist featured in. This game was based on Robot Wars Extreme: Series 1, which ran alongside the filming for the first series of Extreme Warriors. The Revolutionist's appearance never really changed between its two real life appearances, so the game version resembles both. Although the additional small US flags aren't present on the robot, the US flag does remain painted on the robot. The speed and agility of the game version is very similar to its real life counterpart, as is the speed of its spinning weapon. However, the robot does appear slightly smaller (both narrower and shorter) in the game, than its real life counterpart.
Using The RevolutionistEdit
The Revolutionist is easily flippable, if another robot can get in underneath. So avoiding any robots with flipping potential should be a priority. Using the spinner to slice into other robot's sides and rears, before quickly retreating, is also a good tactic. The spinner also needs time to get up to speed, so the robot needs enough time to immediately retreat from the action, to wait for the spinner to come up to full speed.
Against The RevolutionistEdit
As explained above, The Revolutionist is easily flipped, so using any flippers or lifters to try and flip The Revolutionist should provide an easy win. Also, constantly bashing into it will prevent the spinner to go up to its full speed, this will prevent the likelihood of sustaining damage from the spinner.
Differences from Real LifeEdit
- The robot is overall undersized in the game, compared to real life.
- There are two smears of red and blue paint visible on its baseplate when flipped, which are not present in real life.
