Undercut was a robot that attempted to enter Series 4 of Robot Wars. Despite fully participating in the qualifiers, it was unable to qualify for the series. Team captain George Yianni announced plans to build a successor robot to Undercut, but this second version was never made.[1]

Undercut during construction
Undercut was a tall, wedge-shaped robot painted orange with yellow and black hazard stripes. The robot was armed with an angle grinder on one wedge and a spiked iron cross that spun at 5400rpm on the other wedge.[2] The chassis could also raise up and down to get over any proposed obstacles much like former competitor Elvis. Unlike Elvis though, this action is said to be able to self-right the robot.[2] The armored shell was made out of steel, epoxy, and carbon fiber which made it very strong.[2] Undercut also featured six wheels and tank-style steering with control logic, which made the robot difficult to control and ultimately led to its downfall.[3] The construction of Undercut began during Series 3 and was designed with The Gauntlet and The Trials in mind, resulting in the adjustable chassis.[4]
Qualification[]
Undercut attended the qualifiers for the Fourth Wars on 25 July[5], and had one qualifying match against veteran Milly-Ann Bug. Milly-Ann Bug was able to outmaneuver Undercut for most of the match with its superior speed and agility. It was eventually able to win the match by pushing Undercut down The Pit and Undercut was not selected for the Fourth Wars.[2]
