Perhaps it wouldn't be as gratifying to make the badges yourself, so here you go. Let me know of any Bigger Brother-style expansions you did in the past, and I'll see if they should be credited as well.

Main Page[]

I just realised that the polls will need to update each week. Otherwise we'll be up to Episode 5 before we change it. If you can't do it, we can temporarily assign it to another user. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 10:27, March 7, 2017 (UTC)

I was thinking that I'd update it next month as usual to say "Which robot is you favourite for the Grand Final?". However, doing it for each episode does seem like a good idea. I'll be ok with updating the poll each week. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 14:43, March 7, 2017 (UTC)

Opinions please[]

Hey, we're trying to work out how much of an OotA Clusterbots and Minibots count as, and we're pretty divided. Would you mind sharing your opinion please so we can come to a decision? Talk:Thrown_Out_of_the_Arena#Clusterbots. Jimlaad43(talk) 23:12, May 19, 2017 (UTC)

RW Magazine[]

With the conclusion of your unprecedented but excellent array of Robot Wars Magazine contributions, it's finally time to give you some form of reward. Could this be the last time we ever see a Most Original Entry award given out?

Most Original Entry.JPG Award for Most Original Entry
The Award for Most Original Entry is awarded to you by ToastUltimatum for Uploading scans of every Robot Wars Magazine and creating an article for each issue.

TOAST 05:23, September 10, 2017 (UTC)

A while back (June 20th to be exact) You said you would be scanning the Series 7 images from the wallchart only for that not to happen. I didn't feel like mentioning anything just in case you were busy (and you have been quite busy on many of the articles) and so I was wondering when, if you have the time, will you be scanning them. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 13:39, September 23, 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I have been busy. I did scan in the wallchart, but unfortunately, I found that the images were still to small to use. I meant to let you know sooner, but I had lots to do, with all the magazines and various large expansions. I have uploaded them anyway, for you to see and maybe add to your collection of official photos, but they are too small to use on the mainspace. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 13:29, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
Now, that's an interesting thing - they got the swapped heats the right way around, but forgot to change the semi-final line-up accordingly. CrashBash (talk) 14:02, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks!Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 14:29, September 24, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the help with the vandalism earlier, same goes for you too, Datovidny and VulcansHowl. This led me to realise that your account doesn't have rollback enabled, which would've allowed you to revert several edits from the same vandal en masse with the click of one button, so I've enabled this feature for your account. TOAST 22:52, October 1, 2017 (UTC)

And now that Bulldog Breed's design section has been updated, have a badge for the page. TOAST 17:14, October 5, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks Toast! Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 17:34, October 5, 2017 (UTC)

Please remember to categorise the images you upload, using, for example Category:Extreme 2 Battles. All you have to do is type it into the comments field when uploading. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 09:39, January 6, 2018 (UTC)

I know I'm guilty of this too, so I'll try and categorise a lot of images I've uploaded when I've got more time. Raz3r(talk) 10:02, January 6, 2018 (UTC)

Hypno-Disc quote[]

Could you please check the quote at the start of Series 4, I can't tell what it's supposed to read, and you haven't cited an author of the quote. TOAST, FLIPPER 19:46, January 12, 2018 (UTC)

I've corrected it now. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 20:36, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

Badge application[]

Hi Drop Zone, I'll leave the Tetanus badge request to Toast, but I'm wondering if you'd be willing to do Crushtacean next? Krab-Bot is sorely needing an expansion and images, but the rest could justify an expansion even without it. If you did it well, I'd be happy to trump a badge and give you a Best Design award instead. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 11:46, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

You can have the Tetanus badge, by the way. TOAST 13:58, March 14, 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the badge Toast. I was going to start on an expansion of Tiberius next, but I'll do the Crushtacean page after that. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 20:07, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Series 2 HD[]

I saw you did some image uploads of The Mule in action, and as you may be aware I owe the HD episode rips of the second half of Series 2 which I can, if you want, give to you as I did with Nick.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:10, April 19, 2018 (UTC)

Yes please. Thank you. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 05:10, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

Sumo Basho[]

Thanks for keeping on top of image categorisation throughout your time on the wiki, it's enough to warrant an award - keep it up!

Front Page[]

Hey Drop zone. You have been doing a fantastic job redoing the histories of so many classic wars robots, and I'd like to reward that with the next Front Page update. Which classic wars article that you've recently rewritten do you think deserves to be our next featured article? Jimlaad43(talk) 13:59, June 19, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks. Let me look through and see which ones have been used as featured articles. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 20:24, June 19, 2018 (UTC)
How about Typhoon, three time middleweight champion, the only robot to win any trophy three times in a row? Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 08:47, June 20, 2018 (UTC)

Awesome job with your latest articles. I would once again like to feature one as the next main article on the front page. Do you have any preferences? Jimlaad43(talk) 18:49, February 8, 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. Well, I'm not sure which ones gave been the featured article before, but how about Matilda? Or Mr Psycho? Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 19:52, February 8, 2019 (UTC)
If the House Robots articles are up to scratch, it's definitely something to think about. Probably Mr Psycho as it hasn't been featured before, check here. Jimlaad43(talk) 20:22, February 8, 2019 (UTC)

As Toast had rightfully pointed out the front page is due another update, I feel it's another opportunity to promote one of your recent brilliant rewrites. Do you have any robot in particular you'd like to see become the new featured article? Jimlaad43(talk) 12:06, July 18, 2019 (UTC)

Well, I'm not sure which of them have been done before, but perhaps The Steel Avenger, as a notable veteran of many years in the original series. Or maybe Robot the Bruce, a robot co-created by the late great Rex Garrod? I'll look through to see which ones have been used before. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 12:20, July 18, 2019 (UTC)
If Drop Zone doesn't arrive at any other nominations (Steel Avenger was a featured article way back in 2009, Robot the Bruce is a good suggestion although that many months of Rex Garrod might be a bit much) then I would put forward my own rewrite of Rosie the Riveter, a notable robot which has never been featured, but obviously I understand giving priority to a Drop Zone rewrite. TOAST 14:21, July 18, 2019 (UTC)
I don't think Growler has been used before. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 14:32, July 18, 2019 (UTC)

The Front Page is due another update soon, is there any article you've recently written that you think is worthy of being the next featured article? Jimlaad43 13:52, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

I think a team page would be good, and Team Razer hasn't been used before. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 16:45, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

House Robots[]

Thanks a lot for picking out Mr. Psycho as your next major expansion, most House Robots are desperately in need, so if you can cover a few, there should be an award lined up for it. Also remember that The Revolutionist's badge will be awarded as soon as each fight has at least two images. TOAST 14:02, July 11, 2018 (UTC)

When nominating pages for deletion[]

I have noticed that when you nominated several team pages for deletion (which have remained candidates for nearly two years now), you only added the category. I know that you are not the only one who has done this, but next time please also add the deletion template onto the page as well. That way, most of us are more likely to notice that a page is undergoing a deletion process, so that the majority can participate in deletion discussions. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 07:45, July 25, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for your recent help with all the Series 1 rewrites, they've greatly improved the standard in just a few days. I also appreciate your Ultor rewrite, and think there could be enough content here to earn a badge for your efforts. If you can throw in an extra image for the Bumblebot and Big Brother fights, then I'll be happy to award one.

As a general note, I do think you need to enable some kind of spell-checker on your browser, even in Ultor and all the previous rewrites of yours that I've been auditing, there have been plenty of typos to fix. TOAST 09:39, November 22, 2018 (UTC)

Thank you.Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 11:18, November 22, 2018 (UTC)
I've added the images, so will make the badge. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 13:08, November 24, 2018 (UTC)
Keep the badge as you've done enough to earn it, but I must once again remind you about aspect ratio. When uploading Series 3 and 4 screenshots, please upload them in 4:3 aspect ratio. This is very easy to do in even Microsoft Paint, simply reduce the width of the images by 33% without changing the height. TOAST 19:12, November 24, 2018 (UTC)

Mary-Jane Burkett[]

Hey Drop Zone. I know you are adept at finding people involved in Robot Wars, so I was wondering if you could contact Mary-Jane Burkett. From what I understand (thanks to Tinweb, Burkett was an important figure prior to filming of Series 3. Therefore, contacting her may be important, to learn more of Series 3's auditions and other key information that occurred before it was filmed. Thanks. SpaceManiac888 (Talk) 11:09, December 8, 2018 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't know any way of contacting her.

As for contacting people in Robot Wars, I wouldn't say I'm adept at that. I have spoken to a few roboteers, but basically almost all of them were just leaving a comment on one of their posts in a Facebook Group, or on one of their YouTube videos. The most extensive contact I have made with a roboteer was with Simon Harrison of King B, and that was a case of sending his King B Facebook group a message, and him being kind enough to give a reply. I tried doing the same thing with the Carbide page, to try and ask Sam Smith for information about Tiberius, but I recieved no reply. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 15:34, December 8, 2018 (UTC)

Warning, you have just unleashed a duplicate which is both a poorer version and clearly shows you didn't check before upload. The suspect is your Lateral Thought Shunt image which has been uploaded ages ago in HD. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:46, December 12, 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know about that copy. That image isn't on the Reserve Rumble article, so I didn't know about it. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 18:48, December 12, 2018 (UTC)

Growler and Kan-Opener[]

Hi, your image of Growler trying to separate Kan-Opener and Barbaric Response didn't upload correctly, could you try again? TOAST 12:08, March 7, 2019 (UTC)

I will, when I get a chance Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 16:10, March 7, 2019 (UTC)

Glad to see you got yourself a copy but can I just say could you perhaps upload images or scanned copies of my missing pages (I was VERY young and decided to cut them :P) you'll be able to see the missing ones (hopefully). Thanks, I am planning on using a scanner to scan my programmes for better quality shots :P Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 20:20, March 18, 2019 (UTC)

House Robot articles award[]

I very much appreciate the highly-needed rewrites of Matilda, Mr. Psycho and Growler, as the House Robot articles on this site have always been somewhat below par, and your rewrites have greatly increased the quality for these three. For this, you deserve your fifth award, with only one of the six major badges left to attain!

Best Engineered.JPG Award for Best Engineering
The Award for Best Engineering is awarded to you by ToastUltimatum for vastly increasing the level of content and detail on various House Robot articles.

Good luck with the rest of your Shunt rewrite, and I hope you're motivated to continue producing these rewrites in the future, for House Robots such as Sgt. Bash and especially Sir Killalot. TOAST 11:11, March 19, 2019 (UTC)

Series 7 Newsletter[]

Hi, I wanted to ask you a quick question as the scanning of Robot Wars Magazines was largely your work. I'm sure you're aware of a Series 7 newsletter / programme which contains official images of the seeded robots in the Seventh Wars, some of which have already been uploaded to the wiki as a scanned image, such as Ming Dienasty. I do own this programme myself, although what I lack is a scanner. If you could jog my memory, have you already uploaded this newsletter to the wiki? I can try using the scanner app on my phone, but wouldn't want to upload something that's already somewhere on the wiki that I can't find. TOAST 12:11, April 18, 2019 (UTC)

I've uploaded parts of the newsletter, but not those official photos. I seem to remember that a lot of them are from Extreme 2 however. 19:35, April 18, 2019 (UTC)
All the possible Official photos that can be found have been scanned and uploaded (trust me I looked in mine and my Club magazines, I may be missing a few issues though). Drop Zone is also correct in that a lot of the competitor images were in fact Extreme 2 ones with a few exceptions (like Ming Dienasty) Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 19:41, April 18, 2019 (UTC)

Ragnabot 3[]

Hi DZ, I notice you've been active but haven't been voting in the Ragnabot tournament. Do you want to get involved again? Weiss your opinions and bites, and the more the merrier when it comes to votes. Heat G is the currently open page. Jimlaad43(talk) 14:06, August 28, 2019 (UTC)

Expansion suggestions[]

Hi Drop Zone, great work lately with choosing articles to expand. I've loved seeing attention towards the US competitors and House Robots, these have definitely all been important expansions. In case you were thinking about what to tackle in the future, I would definitely suggest that Chompalot and Cedric Slammer are badge-worthy UK series expansions - but of course if you have an agenda already, feel free to continue with that. TOAST 12:50, February 7, 2020 (UTC)

Series 1 images[]

If you want, you can ask if you want some HQ Series 1 images either from Series 2 highlights or from my copy of the First Great War which I'll happily try and do. Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 18:46, August 8, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll have a look through the ones I uploaded. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 19:01, August 8, 2020 (UTC)
Managed to do four, unfortunately there are a few that are impossible to do (like Heat D and most of Heat E). Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:08, August 9, 2020 (UTC)

Series 6 Official Photos[]

Hi Drop Zone,

I've just uploaded six new images to the wiki, showing the Ultimate Guide's official photos of Sir Chromalot, Major Tom, Panic Attack, Ming III, Firestorm IV and Hypno-Disc. All files are linked in the message, but my versions are only photos from my phone. I'm going to roll these out to the articles as placeholders - would you please be able to upload higher quality scans of these images? I can handle the cropping afterwards, but it would be great if we could start making use of these images. TOAST 16:59, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

Will do when I have time. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 18:48, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

Extreme Warriors Programme[]

The other day you uploaded an Extreme Warriors Programme which has the robots and team names listed. Do you mind digging up anything at all about Valkyrie, its CAD images is in the programme but does it have a team name and a quote to go off of in the programme? If you do have it on you, don't mind looking for me, thanks.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 07:22, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Sorry, I looked through the list, but it isn't there. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 15:01, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Damn. We have an image from the programme but no info. Ah well.Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:04, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

International Wreck Crew[]

Hey there. I noticed that you've been rewriting Plunderbird's article. If you want to, you can also touch up the International Wreck Crew team page as I've never finished it and I'm not all that great with team pages. So you can go ahead and touch it up if you want RobotManiac (talk) 20:30, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, but I've got a long list of major expansions planned, and I removed International Wreck Crew from that list when I saw you expanding that page. You've done a good job on it so far, I think you're well on the way to earning a badge for it. I sent you a number of links for more information about the team, I suggest you finish the page and earn a badge. You can read through some of the other Team Pages that have been given major expansions, such as Random Violence Technologies and Team Scutterbots to help you see the standard you need to reach. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 13:32, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Real Robots VHS[]

Saw this, don't know if you'd be interested: Diotoir the son of nemesis (talk) 15:28, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I was away last week, and I've been busy with work and my major expansions. Thanks for that, because I have all the magazines, with the gifts, but no video player. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 15:45, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi there. I remember a while back you made a post about some programmes that you have purchased over the years. If I recall, you said you had the Series 6 and Series 7 programmes. Would it be possible for you to scan them so me and a few others can see what's inside them? Also did you buy them on Ebay, I've been checking Ebay regularly to see if any pop up for sale but I've had no luck so far. I have managed to obtain the Series 5 qualifiers programme but that's all so far. RobotManiac (talk) 21:47, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me. I have been busy with my major expansions, but I will take pictures of the programmes and upload them when I get the chance. I think Diotoir has uploaded parts of the Series 7 programme in the meantime. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 20:22, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey. After I'd uploaded that S3 picture from 2003, I realised that you'd already uploaded it on the 1 Law Associates page. Strangely, I didn't get the notification saying that it was a duplicate file. Just saw that you marked it as a candidate for deletion. That's my mistake so apologies for that. Also on S3's talk page, you mentioned that a source was needed for its Robot Crusade 2003 appearance, fortunately I found the source, so it does prove that they were still involved in robot combat after Extreme 2. RobotManiac (talk) 21:43, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Thanks. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 19:07, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Wild Thing[]

Hey. On Wild Thing's talk page you mentioned back in 2018 that you'd gotten into touch with Isabelle Adams. Did you ever hear back from her? I'm pondering on whether or not we should add the info that Wild Thing's chassis was stored in Nick's shed and is probably now with the other family members. A Facebook comment from 2013 suggested that it was just a chassis left and Isabelle's comment from 2018 says the same thing. So piecing everything together, Wild Thing is most likely just a chassis that resides with the Adams family. Should we go ahead and add that to the page? I've added a few bits earlier but guessing that it may be clarified now. RobotManiac (talk) 17:51, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

Sadly, she never got back to me, so that's the best we have. 18:44, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

A chance to find out about Wild Thing[]

Hey, I left this message on your talk page yesterday, but wasn't sure if you got the notification as I edited an existing topic, so I'll drop this again under a new topic.

I was doing research to see if there's still a chance that we can find out if Wild Thing is still around. I know that Nick was very active before he passed, so I know that if we'd known at the time that Nick was easily reachable, no doubt he would've got a photo of Wild Thing if we'd asked. But as Nick is no longer with us, I thought that it'd now be impossible. However, I managed to track down Isabelle Adams on LinkedIn, like you did before, as her other account isn't there anymore. She's now going by the name Isaballe Richards, so she has obviously been married some time in the last few years. As you contacted her before via LinkedIn, I wondered if you wanted to give it another shot? It'd be awesome to try and get a modern day photo of Wild Thing, if it is still around. According to her profile, she's actually the head of Sony Entertainment Europe now, so I googled the company and dropped an email to see if I can get in touch, waiting on a reply at the moment. Here's the link, so if you want to try and reach out again, that's up to you, but I'm really hoping we can try and get a photo of Wild Thing in 2022. Would be really awesome to share it in memory of Nick.

RobotManiac (talk) 20:58, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for not replying yesterday, I did see your message yesterday. Since Isabelle didn't reply to my question last time, I didn't feel messaging her again would do any good. I was going to respond to your message yesterday, but I had to find the right way to phrase it. I don't really use LinkedIn anymore , do you have it? If so you're welcome to try. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 22:15, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

No I don't have LinkedIn, and I'm not sure if creating a dummy account is allowed. I'll see what the email says if I get a response and I'll go from there and see what happens. Figured I'd just tell you in case, but that's fine, I'll see what happens in the coming days. RobotManiac (talk) 23:35, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Well just as I was about to make a LinkedIn account, I did another search on Facebook and I found her. Dropped her a message through Messenger, let's see what happens. RobotManiac (talk) 13:09, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Good luck. When she didn't reply to my questions, I was going to send her a message politely asking her to answer them if she had time, but I couldn't think of the right way to say it, and I didn't want to impose on her. I might give it another try, as she has been going more public since Nick's death, starting an online fundraiser for cancer research. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 19:39, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Hey. As I'm aware, you're very keen on expanding team pages and always try to get extra information to make them more detailed, especially regarding the team members. Recently, I got in touch with Ann Gribble and I know you played a key role in rewriting the Cold Fusion Team page. So I'd like to ask you if you'd perhaps like me to ask Ann anything regarding the team that might be helpful. I know there's a massive amount of detail already on the page, but figured I'd ask just in case there's anything else that you'd maybe want to add to the page. RobotManiac (talk) 19:26, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

The main question would be why Robert Bettington didn't return after Series 5. It would also be good to find out what happened to original team members Andrew Dayton-Lovett and Steve Jones. Thanks. Drop Zone mk2 (talk) 17:46, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
