Vortex was a Lightweight robot which would have appeared in the 1997 US Robot Wars competition. However, Vortex was one of several robots which for whatever reason never made it into the arena, having dropped out for unknown reasons.
Being a Lightweight, it can be assumed that Hurl was to battle in the Lightweight Face Off for the 1997 competition, however, for reasons unknown, it dropped out despite being in the line up for the show.
