Changes: Whipper

Whipper was a featherweight robot built by Team Bodge-it that reached the Featherweight final in Series 7 of Robot Wars, where it was the technical runner-up. It was armed with a lifter.

Robot History

Series 7

In its qualifier battle, Whipper went up against previous Featherweight finalists Micro-Mute, Gi-Ant-O and Rampage 2. Whipper went straight for Rampage 2, whilst Micro-Mute only went in circles and was forced to deal with Sir Killalot and Gi-Ant-O decided to stay out of the action. Micro Mute had been lured into Matilda's CPZ by Sir Killalot and then immobilised by Matilda's flywheel, whilst attacks from Gi-Ant-O cause Whipper's safety link to fall out, and Rampage 2 to lose a drive on one side. When Matilda flipped Micro Mute with her tusks, Micro Mute landed on top of Gi-Ant-O, who also appeared to have become immobile just after the others. Whilst Micro-Mute was attacked and pitted by the house robots, Refbot counted out Gi-Ant-O. Putting Rampage 2 through with Whipper to the final.

In the Featherweight Final, the only thing remaining the same was the house robots. Whipper was up against DTK, Bernard, Prince of Awe, Rip and Rampage 2 again. Whipper performed at its best in this battle, flipping Rip and DTK. Rip was then pitted, and was joined by Prince of Awe and Bernard, both of whom were pitted by DTK. Rampage 2 then broke down and was chucked out of the arena at the end. Only DTK and Whipper were still mobile at the end of the battle and it went to a judges' decision, but the judges went in favour of DTK.
