Widow's Revenge was a competitor robot from Series 5 of Robot Wars. It was built by the "Robot Widows", a team of female roboteers who were sick of the amount of time their partners spent working on their robot. It was a simple box-wedge shaped robot with a pink and white colour scheme and armed with a small spinning disc on the front and a spinning drum on the back. The women made the robot as part of raising the awareness for cancer.
Because Widow's Revenge was placed in the same heat as Razer, and met it in the second round, the Robot Widows pretended to be the Razer team's other halves. Though Widow's Revenge had no actual association with Razer, Vincent Blood's girlfriend Emily stepped in as a third team member after one of the Robot Widows, Captain Jenny Smith, fell ill.
After Robot Wars ended, Jenny Smith captained and built a featherweight called Pillow Torque, which still fights today.
Robot History
Series 5
Widow's Revenge bumped into Sumpthing, with both robots weapons causing little damage to each other. After some pushing around, Sumpthing activated the pit, but before it could attempt to push Widow's Revenge down, Sumpthing broke down and the fight went to the judges, who put Widow's Revenge through to face, Razer. In this battle Widow's Revenge was completely outclassed and was punctured numerous times. Matilda then hit Widow's Revenge with her flywheel several times, smashing and mangling its chassis. Razer then pushed the wrecked remains of Widow's Revenge towards the pit, but drove in itself as Widow's Revenge was not at the right angle to fall down, regardless, Widow's Revenge were out of the competition.
