Wizard was a large circular robot, built to look like a Wizard's hat which lighted up, that competed in Series 2 of Robot Wars. It featured a front-mounted hole saw, as well as two chain flails with drill bit tips attached to the sides of the base, so that Wizard could also act as a thwackbot. It got to the Arena Semi-final of its Heat of the Second Wars, eventually losing to Cassius.

"In designing Wizard, Alwyn "Ozzie" Boulter's primary concern was for his robot to stay out of trouble. For that reason, he first considered a much-opted-for wedge or dome shape, before finally settling on a squat, low-profile cylinder shape. Ozzie considered this to be the optimum design to avoid getting caught by or wedged into obstacles. However, on consideration he decided that the cake tin-like shape his robot developed was too plain and uninteresting. Second thoughts gave him the idea of a wizard's hat-shape. When asked where his inspiration for this idea came from, Ozzie replied that it might have had something to do with his nickname and a certain famous wizard - from Oz!"

Team Wizard later entered The Witch, a similar, albeit less successful robot for Series 3.

In the gauntlet it took the right-hand route, but was caught on the arena spikes and grabbed by Dead Metal, before being turned around and pushed into the pit. After cease was called, Dead Metal continued to attack the incapacitated Wizard, slicing through the top of its protruding hat with its circular saw and prompting booing from the audience. However, its distance was enough to qualify after Rampage broke down in its run.

In the Football trial, it played relatively little role, mostly looking on as Loco and Cassius scored their goals. In the round that followed, the match degenerated into a confrontation with the house robots, involving the ball being set on fire and Wizard breaking down after getting its hat set on fire and cut apart by Matilda and Sergeant Bash. The match was called off after all of the remaining competitors were immobilised by the house robots, but Wizard qualified after it was noted that Sting had broken down first.

Finally, the hat-shaped competitor met Cassius in the Heat Semi-final. It was quickly outmanoeuvered by Rex Garrod's machine, and was eliminated after Cassius pushed Wizard into the Perimeter Patrol Zone, where it broke down after getting attacked by Shunt.
