Woden

"The basic design is that of a wedge shaped robot capable of running either way up, The metal chassis will be enclosed in a wooden outer shell and will be able to stand the most violent of attacks. Woden will have an awesome flywheel driven weapon and lifting spikes."

Woden was a robot that attempted to enter Series 6 and 7 of Robot Wars, but failed to qualify for either. Its name came from the Supreme God in Germanic religion and mythology.

Design[]

Woden was an invertible wedge-shaped robot, armoured in wood and painted gold, very similar in design to BattleBots legend Voltronic. It was armed with lifting spikes at the front and a face-spinner at the rear.

Qualification[]

"Four robots entered. One left. Unfortunately we lost after disabling two of our competitors and having a GREAT battle with Kat3. We inflicted massive damage to Kat3 but ultimately they were victorious with a cracking shot to our main relays with their nasty axe!"

In its attempt to qualify for the Sixth Wars, Woden fought Kat 3, Typhoon 2, and Granny's Revenge 2. Woden used its spikes to flip Granny's Revenge 2 straight away, before doing the same to Typhoon 2, whose shell had already been damaged by Kat 3. However, Kat 3 then struck Woden in a sensitive spot and disabled its main relays, taking it out of the running. It subsequently failed to qualify for the Sixth Wars. One of its opponents, Typhoon 2, also failed to qualify for the main competition, while Kat 3 and Granny's Revenge 2 qualified.

Woden returned to try and qualify for Series 7, where it fought Shredder Evolution and Tsunami. However, within the very opening seconds of the fight, Woden was immobilised by the eventual winner of the battle, Shredder Evolution.
