X-Bot was a robot that entered Series 1 of Dutch Robot Wars. It was a silver box-wedge with a spatula-like scoop for picking up other robots. The team allowed other roboteers to write graffiti all over X-Bot's silver surface, earning it the nickname "graffiti-bot". X-Bot reached the second round of its heat, and lost to Pika 2.
Its name may have been a pun on the games console, the Xbox.
Robot History
Series 1
In its first match, X-Bot was pushed around the arena by Meshuggah. However, Meshuggah broke down, allowing X-Bot through. X-Bot's next match was against Pika 2, and the team predicted having a 50-50 chance of winning. The battle was tenuous, at first neither could get under the other's low ground clearance. X-Bot managed to slip its scoop under Pika 2 and push it towards the pit, but Pika 2 escaped. Pika 2 then got underneath X-Bot and split its scoop with its flywheel. Time ran out and the match went to the jury, who ruled in favour of Pika 2.
