X-Terminator is a British Heavyweight robot that competed in Series 3 of UK Robot Wars, and continued until the end of the show's run, achieving two semi-finals and one Grand Final. This was the first Robot Wars video game release, and so it was the first appearance of X-Terminator, and its only appearance too, as it never appeared in any subsequent games.

X-Terminator in combat

Robot Wars: Metal Mayhem was the first Robot Wars game and as such X-Terminator was one of the first competitor robots to be playable. Due to the Game Boy Color's comparatively poor graphics, the arenas and robots could not be very detailed, and the same goes for X-Terminator.

X-Terminator is probably one of the worst replicated machines on the game, at least from its Series 3 guise, bearing a much better resemblance to its Series 4 incarnation, as well as, oddly, to the Series 5 incarnation of Suicidal Tendencies. Aside from this, the robot does not look as tall as its real life counterpart, and the axe is angled too far downwards, and is referred to in the game as a pneumatic spike. Present, despite having no use, is the self-righting rams on X-Terminator, but these are merely cosmetic.

Differences from Real Life

  • The painting is the wrong colour for the Series 3 robot on which this game is based.
  • The axe is the wrong size and is angled too far downwards.
  • The self-righting rams are cosmetic, because robots on Metal Mayhem cannot be flipped, except by the arena spikes, to which X-Terminator is immune.
